Our Story
Dutchy’s opened its doors in Plantation, Florida, in 2013 with one goal: bring the true taste of South Africa to South Florida. Not a watered-down version, the real deal. The your-mom-would-approve version.
From handmade Biltong and Droëwors to Boerewors, Meat Pies, South African groceries and all the favourites you grew up with, we’ve made it our mission to keep the tastes and traditions of South Africa alive while introducing new customers to the culture we love.
For many years, our Plantation restaurant was an important part of that story. It became a gathering place where accents mixed, stories flowed, and people came together over proper South African food.
As Dutchy’s has grown, so have the needs of our community. In 2026, we said goodbye to the restaurant chapter of Dutchy’s Plantation and began an exciting new one: transforming our flagship location into a gourmet meat market.
The restaurant may be gone, but Dutchy’s Plantation isn’t going anywhere.

Today, Dutchy’s has two South Florida locations, Plantation and Boca Raton, both built around the same mission: making authentic South African products more accessible while continuing to grow alongside the communities we serve.

Do you ship frozen products?
Yes. Frozen items are carefully packed with insulation and ice packs to ensure they arrive in excellent condition.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping times depend on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. Most orders arrive within 1–3 business days after shipping.
Can I place an order online and pick it up in store?
Yes. Local pickup is available for online orders at checkout.
Is there a restaurant at your Boca Raton location?
No. Both our Plantation and Boca Raton locations do not have a restaurant.
Do you sell alcohol or South African wine online?
South African beers & wines are available in-store, or delivery within 10 miles of Plantation or Boca Raton and cannot be shipped nationwide.
Do you make your Biltong, Droëwors, and Boerewors in-house?
Yes! All of our meat products are made in-house at Dutchy’s. We do not add preservatives or sugar to our meat products.
Where can I buy Biltong in the USA?
You can buy authentic South African biltong online at Dutchy’s Gourmet Sausages, and we ship nationwide across all 50 states. Our biltong is made in-house using traditional South African methods.
What is Biltong?
Biltong is a traditional South African air-dried meat snack, similar to jerky but made with different spices and a natural drying process. It’s known for its rich flavor and tender texture.
What is Boerewors?
Boerewors is a traditional South African sausage typically made from beef and pork with a blend of spices. At Dutchy’s, we make our boerewors in-house using traditional methods. We also offer a beef-only option in lamb casing for customers who prefer not to consume pork. It’s most commonly cooked on a braai (South African BBQ) and is a staple of South African cuisine.
