I stopped by this spot and was honestly impressed with the whole experience. It’s such a unique concept—half restaurant, half South African market—and it makes the visit feel a lot more interesting than your typical place. The food was excellent, everything came out fresh and well-prepared, and you can tell there’s real authenticity behind it. I also tried the malva pudding for dessert and it was incredible, rich, warm, and definitely something I’d come back for. What really stood out though was the service—everyone was friendly, but William in particular was super helpful and made the whole experience even better. It’s one of those places you enjoy not just for the food, but for the atmosphere and people too. I’ll definitely be back, and next time I’m planning to check out more of the products in the store as well.
My friends surprised me... literally.... I was so blown away with the quality of the food. The chicken liver peri peri, the curry lamb served in a baguette, the pork belly and the famous Gatsby... full of flavors, fresh, delightful. And the bottles of South African beers... The service was warm and welcoming, the ambience...peaceful. it was an amazing experience.
Mmm mmmm Dutchy's has the BEST biltong, droewors and sausage rolls. Too bad they're closed on Sundays 😔
Well, who knew South African food would be so tasty. I took home some pies, had the lamb curry pie the next day and boom, so tasty. I will be back to try some things on their restaurant menu.
